WZZM Launching New Show

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) -- We are pleased to announce an improved format and title for our 9 a.m. weekday local broadcast hour. "My West Michigan" will be a fresh and exciting combination of news, entertainment and lifestyles programming hosted by longtime WZZM 13 anchors Jennifer Pascua and Lauren Stanton.

Program and Community Director, Catherine Behrendt, will continue her role in the chat segment of the show and will handle all sales related client appearances under the subtitle "The Exchange."

Many of the favorite regular guests of Take Five & Company that viewers have come to know and enjoy will continue to appear on the new program.

WZZM Reporter Peter Ross Leaving After 29 Years

From Mlive.com: GRAND RAPIDS, MI – WZZM-TV 13 reporter Peter Ross, after 29 years in the news business in West Michigan, is leaving TV journalism.

Ross is departing the ABC-TV affiliate to become regional director for the West Michigan office of U.S. Sen. Gary Peters.

His final day at WZZM-TV is Aug. 7.

"I've been in daily broadcast journalism for the past 35 years, the last 29 here at WZZM TV, and I've been considering a change for a few years," Ross told MLive. "One that will allow me to build on the many relationships I've established around the region and also allow me to indulge my interests in government and business issues.

Ross begins new duties for Peters on Aug. 10.

"It's a position that aims to help him build relationships with citizens, governments, community organizations and employers in a 12-county West Michigan region," Ross said. "I am thrilled at the prospect of serving the public in new ways."

FOX 17's Tim Doty to anchor in Indianapolis

392060_301065786599977_1067157291_n 13-year FOX 17 news personality Tim Doty has officially anchored his last broadcast in Grand Rapids. Tim will be the morning and noon anchor at WTTV in Indianapolis when the station launches as the CBS affiliate January 1. He took to Facebook to say goodbye to his longtime fans- "I have made some amazing friends in west Michigan over the years and had some truly memorable experiences, now it's time for a new chapter for my family and me. Thanks to all, and remember, the Circle City is just a few hours away so we'll definitely cross paths again!" We wish Tim Doty well as he begins this next chapter of his broadcasting career.

From Radio DJ to TV Reporter- Jackie Green joins FOX 17

MLive.com reports Jackie made the transition to television news after six years in local radio. This week marks her first on-air at FOX 17, covering local feature and entertainment news. Jackie recently posted about her new role on Facebook, "First few days at Fox have been very fun, so much new stuff to learn it's going to take a while to master it."
