Ethics month: Strategies for disclosing mistakes and bad news

  • University Club 111 Lyon Street NW Suite 1025 Grand Rapids, MI (map)

Leaders, and especially those who advise and counsel them must recognize the ethical expectations of everyone inside and outside the organization. Failure to meet these expectations has palpable negative consequences. This program discusses the expectations and the consequences of failure to meet those expectations. By the end of this program participants will be able to: Learn and internalize the ethical expectations of leadership; Clearly understand and commit to fostering and sustaining trust; Recognize leadership communication obligations in a trust-based culture; Cope with the stress of giving ethical advice; Learn ways through which to ethically communicate “bad news” to stakeholders.

Karen Swim, BEPS PRSA National Board Member (Detroit), will join us as we focus on PRSA Ethics Month and the ethical expectations of leadership featuring PRSA Board of Ethics and Professional Standards (BEPS). She'll present ethical strategies for revealing and disclosing mistakes and bad news.
